Your First Visit

Your child’s first appointment is an exciting one! Your family’s first visit to our office serves as a time to not only create a treatment plan and review their dental history but also get to know your child as a patient and begin building a strong rapport. It’s important to note that your child’s first visit to our office will likely be a little longer than their following routine visits, as we believe it’s essential for our team to spend this extra time with each first-time patient to have successful dental experiences in the future.

New Patient Forms

To make your first visit to our practice as streamlined and efficient as possible, we recommend filling out your new patient paperwork in the comfort and convenience of your home. If you would prefer to fill out our forms in our office, please plan to arrive an additional 10-15 minutes earlier to have time to do so.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s recommended that kids see a qualified pediatric dentist by the time they turn one or when their first tooth grows in, whichever happens first. While this may seem young, it’s important to have their gums and the teeth that have grown in assessed to diagnose and treat any potential issues early on.

Every kid is different, but we recommend that all of our patients visit our practice at least twice per year for routine cleanings and exams. Then, we can design a custom treatment plan that meets the unique needs of their smile!

Of course! Having a family member close by can make a huge difference, especially for kids who struggle with dental anxiety. Once children get into their preteen and teen years, we often recommend that parents wait in our lobby to help foster independence, but it’s not a requirement.

For younger children, we often recommend scheduling morning appointments, as elementary-age and younger kids are often fresher in the morning and more likely to cooperate. Older kids may prefer afternoons or after-school appointments. However, you know your child best, and we will work with your preferences and schedule!

Yes, we accept same-day emergency appointments. Please give our office a call right away to schedule an emergency visit with Dr. Lindley.

For families with multiple children, we recommend scheduling block appointments with us so everyone can have their routine treatments taken care of in one convenient morning or afternoon. However, children who are waiting for their siblings must have a parent or guardian with them at all times.

Talking about dentistry and its importance in a positive light is crucial for helping kids form positive opinions. Dental-related books, toys, and games can also help make dentistry less foreign and more of a familiar topic. Kids love copying their parents and older family members, so taking great care of your own teeth will have an impact on your child, too!
